Meet Suparom

Welcome to Suparom, an independent studio based in Naarm / Melbourne, Australia.

I am a multidisciplinary designer and illustrator whose work dwells in the space between memory and emotion. Born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand, I took a leap of faith a decade ago when I moved solo to Naarm / Melbourne on a one-way ticket. Today, Melbourne is the home where my heart and creative practice live.

My art is guided by a "soft-focus" aesthetic, weaving personal experiences and character-driven narratives into atmospheric, dreamy landscapes using ethereal gradients, airbrushed textures, and a nostalgic lens.

Driven by a love for tactile materials, I embrace Risograph as my primary medium. I am captivated by the vivid, soulful ink colours unique to the process, offering a depth that digital screens simply cannot replicate. I deeply value the human touch of Riso-the intentional imperfections and warm textures that make every piece feel alive. My Riso print, Ethereal, has even been featured in group exhibitions including Assembly at Jacky Winter Gallery and the ZINEergy Risograph Exhibition at Gosford Gallery.

Beyond my main Riso prints, my practice extends into a curated collection of small-batch functional art. From stationery like to-do pads and zines, to everyday pieces like stickers, keychains, and tote bags, every item begins as an illustration in my studio-made to translate intangible feelings into something vibrant and tangible for your daily life.

How it all began

To be completely honest, I didn’t always think I could draw.

My journey with illustration truly began in 2024 when I took a leap, left my full-time design job, and fell completely in love with Risograph printing. To begin with, I was drawing purely for fun and sharing my digital illustrations on Instagram.

Later that year, during a visit back home to Thailand, I decided on a whim to submit those playful drawings to the Bangkok Illustration Fair. I didn’t think much of it, but when I returned home to Melbourne, I opened the fair’s website and saw my name on the official artist list. That was the magical spark-the exact moment I realised: I have to do this.

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of sharing my work across the region at the Illustration Arts Festival in Singapore, Manila Illustration Fair, Brisbane Illustration Fair, and local markets like The Makers & Shakers in Melbourne.

(Note: Even though I've been on and off with full-time agency work since then, this studio remains the place where my heart truly belongs.)
